ROOF OF AFRICA 2025: “WHERE CHAMPIONS CONQUER THE KINGDOM IN THE SKY”
The Kingdom in the Sky is gearing up to host one of the world’s most anticipated off-road motorbike spectacles. The Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation (LTDC), in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Sports, Arts and Culture, has joined forces with the Lesotho Off-Road Association (LORA), organizers of the iconic Roof of Africa Rally, to stage this internationally renowned tourney.
The 2025 edition marks a historic milestone as the Grand Finale of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) Hard Enduro World Championship, positioning Lesotho prominently on the global motorsport stage. The event promises unparalleled excitement as more than 400 riders from over 15 countries take on Lesotho’s rugged mountain terrain from 19–22 November 2025.
Beyond its sporting prestige, Roof of Africa 2025 reinforces Lesotho’s rising appeal as a premier adventure tourism destination. Thousands of spectators from South Africa and further afield are expected to descend on the Mountain Kingdom to witness this thrilling spectacle, generating substantial economic benefits and contributing to the country’s tourism growth.
The 56th edition of the event proudly reflects an interest in local participation, with 13 Basotho riders competing across the Iron, Bronze, and Silver categories. This year also marks a momentous landmark as Isuzu Lesotho comes on board as a local sponsor, showing strengthened domestic corporate backing for this renowned international race.
The Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation (LTDC), in collaboration with the Department of Sports under the Ministry of Tourism, Sports, Arts, and Culture, continues to champion the event as a pivotal platform in positioning Lesotho as a premier global adventure destination. Royal and government dignitaries, including His Majesty the King and the Prime Minister, will grace the event, with the official prize-giving ceremony scheduled for 22 November 2025 at Avani Lesotho.
